I’ve been in New York for a couple hours now. After walking around, sitting, checking my phone, journelling, reading, crocheting and eating, now the tiredness has set in. Don’t tell anyone but I’ve definitely been people watching. It has shown me how America is such a melting pot or at least International airports are melting pots. I’ve seen many orthodox jews, muslims, rock-star looking people and I even saw a gypsie! It is so crazy and colorful.
Most of the people that I see, when they talk I expect to hear english and instead french, spanish, arabic, chinese and many other languages are spoken. As I was waiting in line for my lunch there were two British guys and for a second I stopped and my thoughts were questioning if I was back in London. I now see the similarities, well at least the way the airports are setup and how many different types of people go through those airports.
Every time I see Orthodox Jews and I’m eating something that is technically not kosher I feel slight bad, almost guilty. Then I reminded myself that I’m doing my best, but of course there is room for improvement. It’s pretty outside and cold near the doors. I’m definitely tired now and super nervous for meeting everyone.
