I would like to take you back to a time when victory filled the air for the Prussians after the Danish-Prussian war.
Flash forward to July 2013, I now find myself standing small in front of this large monument. During my travels in Germany I found myself in the midst of Berlin. One day a friend and I journeyed to what seemed like the end of the road of Unter Den Linden, past the Brandenburg Tor (Gate). We were searching for city rental bikes. Instead we found ourselves staring up at this large city monument. It was really neat. Then we ended up sitting on a bench on the outskirts of Tiergarten. As if in a movie, the sun was quickly setting and the clouds were rolling in. It was still muggy feeling and then the thunder and lightening came. It was so cool and beautiful looking. It was almost majestic and G-d’s presence was strongly sensed. Walking back to the U-bahn, we stumbled upon many more monument all while listening to the sound and light striking every few minutes. Those memories are all captured into this one photo of this one evening while out at the victory tower!
